Get a taste of Ice Cream Sandwich on your HTC EVO before it's even officially revealed

Google is expected to officially unveil the next version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS), on October 11, and you can be sure that those brilliant and hardworking developers will port it over to the HTC EVO 4G and EVO 3D in an instant. But how would you like an early taste of ICS right now?

Apparently, Google is planning slick new versions of Google+ and Google Music to be released with ICS later this year, but (as usual) they've been leaked far ahead of time. You can find them at the links below, but here is what's been updated:

  • Google+ is bumped to 2.0 and has a new interface, including easier navigation without using any hardware buttons (ICS will be even more touch-based than Gingerbread).
  • Google+ also has a color scheme more in line with the "ICS blues."
  • Messenger has been changed to Chord.
  • Google Music is bumped to 4.0.1 and boasts an entirely new design that you really just have to see yourself to appreciate.
  • Google Music also added a search button, which will help with navigation sans hardware buttons.

Granted, this isn't a system dump of ICS, or even an ICS theme for Gingerbread. But it does offer a small glimpse of the future of Android – and it's always nice to have the latest app updates on the EVO before anyone else does.
