GTA 3 getting iOS backwards compatibility after launch

gta3 - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

If you read about GTA 3 coming to Android and iOS and wanted to throw your older generation Apple device out the window when you read about the dual core requirement, here is some good news for you: the dual core requirement will only be an initial limitation. That’s a pretty typical way of doing things with state of the art games; releasing it first and then working on optimizing it later. I know of games who have had extreme optimization changes added in updates 1.5 years after release, so this is definitely possible. Considering the lack of a new iPod touch capable of running this game initially and millions of iPhone 4 owners who see no point in upgrading to the 4S, this is definitely good news. Hopefully it will also come to single core Android devices in the future.
