Official Hotmail app finally available on Android

2011-10-06_22-05-00 Here's the situation: you have a Hotmail account, but you also have an HTC EVO.

I've been in this situation before. I have a "Live" email account that I use sometimes but every time I wanted to check it on my phone, I had to go to the browser. Now of course, this was not the hardest thing to do in the world – but this is an EVO, I shouldn't have to work so hard to check my damn email!

Well, Microsoft has finally come through and made an official Hotmail app. It isn't very flashy, but it gets the job done.

According to the comments in the Market, this bad boy has been a bit of battery drainer. But, if you use your Hotmail email a lot, this may be a small price to pay to get it pushed to your phone. Another little feature I noticed is that you can head into the settings and enable password protection.

The app is free in the Android Market, so if you have a Hotmail account, then you should check it out ASAP.
