Samsung hijacks Apple Store lines to sell Galaxy S II

Samsung-store-apple-storeWhile Google and Samsung may have delayed the US announcement of the Nexus Prime out of respect for Steve Jobs, in Australia Samsung is still moving forward at full speed. In fact, it's even aggressively targeting Apple's iPhone 4S launch by offering its Galaxy S II devices to those in line.

To facilitate these actions, Samsung set up a temporary store just a few feet from the Apple store, as you can see in the above picture. Lines have begun to form outside this store because not only is Samsung heavily promoting the Galaxy S II, but it's also offering it at the steeply discounted price of $2 a device to a limited number of people.

The choice of Australia for this promotion is probably because Apple just won a preliminary injunction on the company's Galaxy Tab tablet in the country. As with its legal battles, it looks like Samsung has decided to go on the offensive against both Apple's lawsuits and products. Certainly, these tactics are effective in terms marketing and promotion, as Samsung is creating quite a buzz.

However, it is interesting to see the contrast between these actions and the respectful delay of the Nexus Prime. Do you think Samsung is doing the right thing by continuing to compete aggressively, or is it just being downright rude?
