Good and EVOSoftware Updates

Security fix coming soon for HTC EVO?

Sensation-security-updateRemember that huge fiasco with HTC Loggers making your private information on your HTC EVO available to just about any rogue app that wants it? It looks like HTC has finally figured out exactly how it's going to fix this problem, and has even started to roll out an update to the unbranded European HTC Sensation. Since the Sensation is basically an EVO 3D without the 3D, it's very likely that a similar fix is on the way for us, pending Sprint's approval, of course.

The update for the Sensation is 9.21MB, and includes "an important security update. HTC urgently recommends you to download and install this update."

So, shame on HTC for allowing such a huge security vulnerability to pass through the supposedly rigorous testing. But good for HTC for being so quick to implement a fix, and for listening to the developer community who found this bug to begin with.

Now, in case you are not rooted, or running a stock ROM that doesn't have HTC Loggers already removed, it's just a matter of playing the waiting game.
