Use your tablet as an aquarium

aquarium - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

For ages now you’ve been able to buy DVDs and Blu Rays with recordings of aquariums and fireplaces that supposedly turn your TV into a calming background….thing. Not surprisingly, the same concept has made it onto our beloved tablets as well, and you can find such simulators for any OS. While a 10-inch fireplace might be a bit peculiar, it might be nice to have your tablet displaying an aquarium when not in use and in a dock. Sort of like using it as a photo frame, but with digital fish.

As with everything that can be done, this has also been overdone. There are roughly 24 billion different apps available, ranging from simple recordings to advanced simulations that you need to feed and clean. The latter type goes more into the game category, but whatever floats your boat. I’ve even seen the concept applied to hamsters, which could certainly be amusing to watch until it starts looping too obviously. If this sounds like a nice thing to use your idle tablet for, make sure to check out your respective OSes app store(s).
