7-inch Asus Transformer in the pipeline?

We don’t bring up tablets like the one you see in the picture above very often, since they all have 10-inch screens. But every time that we do, it’s usually to tell you that the manufacturers of those aforementioned large tablets have seen the error of their ways and have decided to start producing more pocketable 7-inch varieties.

Thankfully, that’s what Asus has allegedly decided to do with its Transformer tablet.

According to a new report from today, the Taiwanese company is going to unleash a plethora of Android tablets next year, one of which is expected to be a 7-inch Transformer. Combined with its laptop dock and some other accessories, the smaller Transformer could be a serious contender for the mobile business professional who needs to pack light and do serious work.

On the contrary, though, a smaller screen for its dock would translate to a smaller keyboard. Still, I think a 7-inch Transformer could enter a niche market . . . and possibly my house.
