Bejeweled 2 is free today from the Amazon Appstore
Sometimes when you look at the Amazon Appstore's Free App of the Day, it isn't that exciting. But when I opened my newly updated Appstore today, I was pleasantly surprised.
Bejeweled 2 by EA Sports, normally $2.99, is completely free today!
For those of you who have never played the classic match-three game of Bejeweled (which I'm guessing is about 1% of you), the object is to get three identical jewels adjacent to each other so they will disappear.
Sounds pretty simple, but I guarantee this old classic will create a few addicts out there.
The reviews on the Amazon Appsotre are mixed. For starters, the app is downloadable via WiFi (or WiMax) only. And since it's "WiFi only," the download is pretty big. Fortunately, it takes up less than 1MB of internal space and if you have a high capacity SD card, you won't complain.
Finally, there is the questionable "send SMS messages" permission. My guess is that EA Sports has added a "share" feature in the game somewhere that could let you send texts. I wouldn't get too hung up on this permission in particular or any of the other negative comments being left.
Bottom line: this game's been great over the years and still is. And today it's free.
