Ported from iOS and finally free on Android, Early Bird! is a physics-based game in which the object is to get the worm (and some bees and other flying things) and avoid getting poked.
You swipe the screen to hurl your birdie into the air. From there you can land or swipe again for mid-air course corrections. You have a limited number of swipes per level, and if you fail in the task your bird takes it very hard.
You gain higher scores for using fewer swipes, landing in the bulls eye, stuffing yourself with bees, and other things along the way. The game is cute; it's wicked cute. Even the worm that is meeting its imminent death only seems slightly annoyed rather than terrified that it's bird food. Even when you lose, the crying bird is ridiculously cute.
Early Bird! used to be a paid app, but it's been converted to free/ad-supported-only now. While free is always good, I think I would pay a buck or two to remove the ads, as the game is quite fun and the ads are excessively annoying.
