Good and EVO

HTC EVO 4G disappears from official HTC support forums

Htc-logoCould this be yet another nail in the HTC EVO 4G's coffin? It seems that the original EVO has all but disappeared completely from the official HTC Community Support Forums. The EVO View 4G tablet, EVO Design 4G, and EVO 3D are all there, but it looks like the EVO 4G is gone – poof! – without a trace.

G&E reader Jeff first alerted us to this situation, and he says that he sent an email to HTC support about this. They said they'd look into it, but four days later it's still missing.

As we know, the EVO 4G was supposedly discontinued back in October, although we have been receiving miscellaneous reports that Sprint stores are still stocking and selling the device, and Best Buy also currently has a free EVO 4G promotion. Most likely, Sprint and other retailers are simply trying to clear their existing inventory.

Could this be another sign that our beloved, innovative, groundbreaking OG EVO is finished? What about the fact that HTC does still have some forums for other devices that are even older, like the HTC Hero? In any case, we can definitely say that the EVO 4G had a good run.

[HTC] Thanks, Jeff!
