Netflix receives update, no longer looks like crap on HTC EVO View 4G

Netflix-evoview1When I first found out this morning that Netflix was receiving on update that would bring some much-needed visual updates to Android tablets, I didn't give it much of a second thought. After all, my HTC EVO View 4G is still running Gingerbread, and I stopped holding my breath a while ago for the promised Honeycomb update. I thought that this new Netflix update would probably only benefit those lucky Honeycomb users out there, just like most apps that offer purported improvements for tablets (Gmail, for example), so I continued on with my day.

Then, just a few minutes ago, I randomly opened Netflix on my EVO View, and lo and behold I discovered that Netflix did indeed look a heck of a lot better. Additionally, you can now also browse movies in horizontal landscape mode; before, this was restricted to portrait mode only.

Strangely enough, I was never prompted to update Netflix through the Market, so this seems like an update that was transparently pushed to my tablet behind the scenes. Also, when I opened Netflix on my EVO 3D, it still looked the same. So, for once, the Gingerbread-loving EVO View was not left out in the cold. I know it's only one app, but my View definitely feels a lot more tablet-y now. Netflix finally got it right.
