If you're looking for a good alternative to Google's Android Market or Amazon's Appstore, GetJar might be just what you're trying to find. They tend to offer pretty sweet deals on paid apps, and their latest holiday offering is no different.

Apparently, for the rest of December, you can find a huge array of paid apps for free. To download an app, you will need to install GetJar's own app store, which is kind of inconvenient. But maybe some of these apps are worth it to you if you can legitimately get them for free:

  • All Sport GPS Pro
  • Beautiful Widgets
  • Blow Up
  • Deer Hunter 3D
  • Farm Frenzy
  • Fruit Ninja HD
  • Ghost Radar
  • Memory Booster
  • Paper Camera
  • Paper Glider
  • Splashtop Remote Desktop
  • Tapatalk Forum
  • Tek Trak Mobile Security
  • The Moron Test
  • TuneIn Radio Pro
  • Tweetcaster Pro
  • Wave Launcher

This is only a small selection of everything that's available, so if your interest is piqued, be sure to head over to GetJar today!

Yeah this is a wayyyy better option than the amazon appstore because even if you miss it in the initial 24 hr offering youre still able to download it unlike the amazon appstore. They also have a better selection of free apps. its been at least a month that i’ve actually cared about what amazon appstore is offering

The problem I have noticed with GetJar is the paid apps they offer for free do not seem to be updated. Meaning, I downloaded Memory Booster Ad-Free but the version on GetJar is not the most recent version included in the Amazon Market. The problem is I cannot download the newer version from the Android Market because it think I didn’t purchase the app. (which I didn’t, since I got it free from GetJar).

I like GetJar because the apps you download are not tied to the GetJar app so you can uninstall GetJar and still use the paid apps that you downloaded. BUT, it seems you do not get app updates, which is a bummer. So I basically treat GetJar as a way to have a long term preview of a paid app. If you like the paid app, you will need to eventually purchase it from a different app store (Android or Amazon, etc) so you can get further app updates from the developer.
