Kindle Fire gets performance-boosting update

fire - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

The Kindle Fire might be a popular device in the US these days because of its $199 price tag, but that doesn’t mean that people have been completely happy with it. Initial reviews pointed out the device’s performance issues, basically meaning lag. Amazon has now responded by releasing an update to the device that is said to make the device smoother. Smoother, not smooth, as initial reviews of the update still doesn’t hail it as being perfect, but what can you expect for $199? In four days I’m guessing there will be quite a few more Fires in American hands, so this update was nicely timed.
