The future of webOS to be decided in the coming weeks

WebOS - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

HP CEO Meg Whitman told French newspaper Le Figaro that they will announce the plans for the future of webOS in the next couple weeks. HP has stopped production of all of it’s tablets and smartphones and there is currently 600 workers at HP awaiting this decision. The most popular device running this operating system is the HP Touchpad that was put on a fire sale a few months ago.

I personally have an HP Touchpad and really enjoyed using webOS. I found that it’s a great operating system, and the Touchpad is an amazing device. The only real problem I have with webOS is that because no one knows what HP’s plans are, there are very few developers actually making apps for it. Everyone with a tablet knows that without great apps, you really can’t do anything. I for one am waiting anxiously to see what HP decides to do with webOS, and I’m sure there are lots of other Touchpad owners that are doing the same.
