Asus confirms Eee Pad Transformer Ice Cream Sandwich update

EEE Pad ICS - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

When new versions of software are released, most companies make sure that their newest and best gadgets get that software updated first. That leaves those of us with maybe slightly older but still really good devices wondering if and when we might get the newest software toys to play with. Well this week Asus confirms two things in regards to the Eee Pad Transformer tablet.

The first thing that they confirm is that yes, it is getting an ICS update. The second thing they confirm is that it will be coming soon after the Transformer Prime gets updated, which is happening this Thursday January 12. Now if you are familiar with the gaming company Blizzard that makes World of Warcraft, you might laugh when I said the words coming soon. They are famous for a different definition of “soon“. The reason a lot of companies don’t put dates on things is because we as consumers can be pretty ruthless if they don’t live up to those dates. Asus is being smart and waiting until after they roll out ICS for the Transformer Prime before worrying about the older Eee Pad getting updated. It will get ICS, but only Asus knows exactly when.
