Two tablet makers slash prices on their tablets
Did Santa not drop off that new tablet you asked him for for Christmas? Are you looking around to get one as cheap as possible? Well two major tablet makers are trying to help you out. Well maybe they are just trying to help themselves, but at least you can pick up a couple nice tablets for fairly cheap.
The first one is the Blackberry Playbook. Blackberry has reduced the price on all of their Playbooks to $299 US. That’s for the 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB models. Why anyone would buy a 16GB one when you can get four times the storage for the same price is beyond me, but the choice is yours. This isn’t the first time Blackberry has tried to move their tablet inventory by reducing the price, and it makes me think we might be seeing Touchpad-esque fire sale in the coming months. Blackberry as a whole has taken a lot of flak and lost a lot of market share in the last 6 months, and it’s no wonder they are having trouble selling their tablets. The Playbook is a very capable tablet however, and if you are interested in hacking at all, you can sideload the Android market onto by following this guide.
The other tablet that has been reduced in price recently is the Sony Tablet S. The price has been reduced $100 US for both the 16GB and 32 GB to $399 US and $499 US respectively. If you decide to buy a Tablet S Sony will also throw in five free Playstation games and 180 days of its Music Unlimited service. Pretty cool to get some extras if you are in the tablet market. The Tablet S is also a very capable tablet, and in the design aspect went a little different direction than most other manufacturers. The shape is supposed to make it easier for you to hold with one hand.
So if you didn’t get that tablet under the Christmas tree you wanted, you might want to pick up one of these great deals.
