HTC EVO View 4G gets EOL-ed by Sprint

Evo-view-eol

It's a sad day here at G&E, if we are to believe the leaked screenshot above. If what we're seeing here is true, it means the HTC EVO View 4G tablet will recieve "end of life" status by Sprint the week of January 29. Basically, this means that starting that week, as inventory runs out, replacement units will not be ordered, and the EVO View will eventually go the way of the dinosaurs.

It's also interesting that in the above leak, the original black HTC EVO 4G has an EOL date of this week: this is the same EVO that we thought was EOL-ed last fall, but as it turns out, it was only the white EVO 4G that was killed off.

In any case, this is a very capable and promising little tablet, and I'm sorry to see that it had such a short life. I'm also not sure how this will affect the possibility of an official OTA update to Ice Cream Sandwich sometime in the future, but with lots of different price drops in the past weeks and months, it has certainly grown in popularity with developers. This will hopefully mean that someone can eventually come up with a functional ICS custom ROM for the device.
