It's a new day, so it must be time for a new frivolous lawsuit. But instead of Apple going after HTC or other Android handset manufacturers, it's Kodak going after both HTC and Apple, seeking to ban the sale of certain handsets produced by both companies, in addition to "recovery of damages."
In other words, Kodak is broke and desperate, and it's hoping that this might be a way to get some extra cash on hand.
Here are the patents in question:
- US Patent No. 7,210,161 – "Automatically Transmitting Images from an Electronic Camera to a Service Provider Using a Network Configuration File"
- US Patent No. 7,742,084 – "Network Configuration File for Automatically Transmitting Images from an Electronic Still Camera"
- US Patent No. 7,453,605 – "Capturing Digital Images to be Transferred to an E-Mail Address"
- US Patent No. 7,936,391 – "Digital Camera with Communications Interface for Selectively Transmitting Images over a Cellular Phone Network and a Wireless LAN Network to a Destination"
Really, Kodak? While you're at it, why not just file a patent for "Pressing a button that captures a digital image on an electronic device."
