Latest OTA rooted stock ROMs available for HTC EVO 3D and 4G
Whenever a new OTA update is released, many rooted users have the same question: what's the best way to update without losing root? Last week, the HTC EVO 3D was officially updated to version 2.17.651.5, and several days ago, the HTC EVO 4G got its own update to version 4.67.651.3. And if you're rooted and you want to stay rooted, then you didn't accept the OTA update. Good.
If you're already running a custom ROM that has a lot of modifications, your best bet is to just relax and wait for your ROM developer to update said ROM to the latest version. But if you're simply using a stock ROM, all you have to do is wait for a stock rooted ROM to become available.
And thanks to all the awesome HTC EVO owners out there, this is already possible.
- If you're rockin' an EVO 3D, smoley has just introduced a ROM called Molecule. It's based off of the latest update and the only modification is the removal of bloatware.
- If you're still holding on to an EVO 4G, there are a few options for you: brad560 has released another one of his great stock ROMs, while misery in motion has put one together and also come out with a barebones version without bloatware.
