LG X3 quad-core HD smartphone leaks

LG-X3Lately, LG has really been upping their game in the mobile market. Just a week or so ago, they announced the Spectrum, a phone with both LTE and an HD display for Verizon. Now, details have leaked on the company's X3, an impressive quad-core powerhouse that looks like the Spectrum's bigger brother for GSM networks.

While the X3 has the same 1280 x 720 resolution as the Spectrum, its display has been bumped to a slightly larger 4.7 inches. It also has much more powerful guts, most notably the Tegra 3 processor, 2,000 mAh battery, HSPA+ (and probably LTE), and even NFC, all packed in a slim 9mm chassis.

Cell connectivity includes HSPA+, which although it's not LTE, should be sufficiently fast for most usage. Also, as AT&T is currently moving to LTE, it is more than likely that the X3 is destined for T-Mobile use.

For software, the X3 should launch with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Whether it will be skinned or not is unclear, but at least LG is releasing their device with the latest Android version.

The X3 should be coming out sometime in Q3 this year, around the same time as the HTC Edge. More quad-core devices are sure to come before then, but for now the X3 looks like a killer piece of hardware.
