Moneto to bring NFC to our HTC EVOs (and other NFC-less devices)

PaymentTerminal[1]Want NFC but want your HTC EVO 3D or 4G more? Well, a company called Moneto plans to release a product in the second quarter of this year that should add the functionality to our existing EVOs by using a replacement SD card and a mobile driver app.

If you don't know what NFC is, the short of it is that it allows you to swipe your phone to any device that take it (gas pumps, grocery store checkouts, etc) and pay via pre-paid mastercard (which it comes with standard) or any account you wish to set up with it.

The base card for Android devices is expected to be priced at $30, which should include $10 on the pre-paid account it reportedly ships with.

While tech specs are not yet listed on Moneto's FAQ page, the Moneto device is usable as SD storage. My bet is they will release it as an 8GB SD initially and there will be greater levels of storage at some point in the near future
