Motorola starts ICS soak test for Xoom tablet

Xoom ICS - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

Good news today on the ICS front for Motorola Xoom owners. Motorola started what are called soak tests on the Xoom tablet. A soak test is a test group that will all get their Xoom’s updated to ICS, so Motorola can see how it is working. This group consists of both the WiFi and 4G LTE versions of the Xoom.

There is no date available for when the rest of the Xoom owners will get the update, but a lot of that depends on how well the tests go. The testers are bound by a non-disclosure agreement, so we most likely won’t hear how the test is going, unless some brave soul wants to risk a lawsuit from Motorola. Hopefully Motorola has a pretty good time with the tests and the rest of the owners will get a taste of ICS soon.

The flagship Honeycomb tablet is coming to the ICS table a little bit late. Asus’ Transformer Prime was updated to ICS this week, and we also know that the original Transformer will be updated soon. If you have the Xoom, are you excited to be getting ICS?
