Reminder: HTC EVO 3D OTA update to 2.17.651.5 rolls out nationwide today
In case you haven’t already manually installed the latest OTA software update on your HTC EVO 3D, Sprint will begin rolling it out to users nationwide today. The update bumps the phone up to version 2.17.651.5 and brings with it a host of improvements, although Sprint’s official changelog mentions only a mysterious “Security Update.” One of the first things we noticed was that Carrier IQ has finally been removed. G&E readers, however, have also been quick to note that speed and general overall performance have also drastically improved since this latest update, while a few have also reported better battery life. You can expect to be notified of this update at any time from here on out, so be on the lookout if you tend to be less proactive about these types of things. And once you install it, be sure to let us know how it’s working out for you, and whether you notice any other improvements! Now if we could just get some Ice Cream Sandwich, we’ll be all set.
