Status Updater brings FriendStream functionality to Ice Cream Sandwich

One of the drawbacks to installing an Ice Cream Sandwich ROM on your rooted HTC EVO 4G or 3D has always been losing some of the HTC apps and widgets. But if FriendStream, which combines Facebook and Twitter into one timelined window, is the one you can't live without, then you should check out kAmMa's Status Updater.

Originally released last summer and updated to version 1.7.3 just last week, it brings the convenience of FriendStream to the ICS platform, providing basically the same functionality, if not quite the looks. It only works on ICS at the moment (or Honeycomb+ if you're trying it on a tablet), but it's the only FriendStream replacement I know of out there until HTC releases its ICS Sense apps and widgets sometime this year.

For those looking to upgrade to ICS via rooting and flashing, which is what will have to happen on the EVO 4G unless Sprint changes its mind on the ICS rollout, there's now one less reason to wait.
