Novo7: World’s first Android 4.0 tablet for $99

Worlds First Android 4.0 Tablet for $99 - Copy

With CES in progress, I set out to find which manufacturer would come out with the lowest priced Android tablet, and I think this is it. It's the $99 Novo7 tablet and along with the cool price comes Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0).

The tablet felt pretty solid to me, although it also felt a bit underpowered at times. This is likely due to the XBurst mobile CPU solution for an ARM processor. XBurst is MIPS architecture compatible that will play back 1080p running at 1GHz on a 800 x 480 7-inch display.

The Novo7 has an HDMI port to play your 1080p on your big screen, but like most low-priced tablets, you won't find the official Android Market preinstalled. Even so, this looks like it will be an interesting device to consider for those in the market for an affordable tablet with the latest version of Android.
