Acer plans on releasing ICS for A100 & A500 in April

I love announcing when new tablets are getting updated. I own a Touchpad and any Android updates for me come from developers, not from HP. Everyday I check to see if there is a new build available. I see what new bugs are squished, and what new features are finally enabled. That’s why it brings me such joy to announce when your tablets are getting updated. It’s like an early birthday present, or that $10 bill you find in your jeans when you do the laundry. Just a little something special for the day.

Today I am pleased to pass along the word that Acer is planning on updating their Iconia Tab A100 & A500 to ICS. The scheduled updating is to occur in mid-April. Just last week Acer started to roll out their update of the A200 tablet. It’s actually a little surprising to me that Acer is including the A100 in the update. The A100 wasn’t a very popular tablet. This to me says a lot more about the how committed Acer is to it’s customers to keep updating their devices. It would have been very easy to just leave these tablets off the updating list and focus on new products. There is nothing worse to me as a consumer to see all the other tablets get shiny new updates and have yours left behind. It’s kind of like getting picked last for dodgeball.
