Dropbox has a new app beta with automatic camera uploads

- for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

How I love Dropbox, let me count the ways… Let’s add one more reason to why I love Dropbox. Available now is a new beta version of the Android app. It is version 2.0.9 and called Experimental Android Forum Build. There are a couple of bugs fixed, and one big feature added. Dropbox will now automatically upload your pictures to your Dropbox account. It does the picture uploading in the background any time you take a photo.

Along with this trial period, when you install the beta you will get a free 500MB of extra storage, and if you fill that up, you will get an additional 500MB, all the way of to 5GB extra. That alone is a great reason to give this new build a try. There is also a beta version of the desktop app available, version 1.3.12. If you install both beta versions you do not get double the extra space, I already tried! If you haven’t signed up for Dropbox yet, you can do so at this link. If you install the desktop version, it will auto upload pictures and video from any camera, SD card, or phone you plug into the computer. You can download the .apk directly from Dropbox by following this link.
