HTC preparing to launch streaming music service

Htc-beatsCould HTC be preparing to launch its own streaming music service, along the lines of Spotify, Pandora, and/or Google Music? According to the latest reports, yes – and we might see what HTC has up its sleeves in this regard as early as Mobile World Congress at the end of this month.

Apparently, HTC is working closely with the founder of Beats Audio, Jimmy Iovine, to launch this service with all new phones and tablets; this streaming music player would be the default player on all future HTC devices. Additionally, HTC and Beats Audio are said to be working on a wireless boom box that would stream music directly from HTC phones.

This news comes after other recent leaks that future HTC phones might also be PlayStation certified, in addition to offering a more direct competitor to Apple's Siri. Of course, until we get an official announcement, take all of this with a grain of salt – but it certainly looks like HTC is gearing up for a stellar 2012.
