Coby releases two budget friendly ICS tablets

Coby 1 - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

If you are in the market for a budget tablet and really want something that’s running Android Ice Cream Sandwich, not some book retailers version of Gingerbread, then Coby has a couple tablets you might be interested. Coby has the 7-inch  Kyros MID7042-4, which retails for $179 and the 9.7-inch Kyros MID9742-B that goes for $279. Coby introduced these two tablets at CES at the beginning of the year, and started shipping them today.

Both of the tablets share the same internal processing with a single-core 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor and 1GB of RAM. They have 8GB of internal storage as well as a microSD card slot and HDMI output. The 7-inch has a 16:9 touchscreen with a 800 x 480 resolution and the 9-inch model has a 1024 x 768 resolution. If you are looking for a budget tablet, these might just be the route to go. I don’t personally have any experiences with Coby tablets, but this isn’t Coby’s first foray into the tablet market, so hopefully they kind of know what they are doing by now.
