Here’s an easier way to root the Sony Tablet P

Tablet_p

Ah, yes. The wonders of rooting an Android tablet! It's arguably one of Android's biggest selling points, but one of the problems with rooting is its difficulty level; not many average consumers who know of the word "rooting" can successfully do such a thing.

Luckily though, the smart(phone) operating system is surrounded by many smart hackers and developers. One of those smart people is a member of our very own forums, and he posted an amazing, comprehensive guide on how to root the Sony Tablet P.

It isn't a one-click rooting method, but it's still relatively easy. All you have to do is download the two files that are linked in the source box below – these two programs are your ADB drivers and rooting program. Next, install the ADB drivers to your computer by opening the Install ADB drivers.exe file. Then, make sure your Tablet P accepts apps from unknown sources and has USB debugging turned on and plug it into your computer. Finally open the SonyTablet.bat file, follow the on-screen instructions, and you're rooted!

Huge thanks to RayIczer for making the guide! Be sure to thank him in the forums; and while you are, check out the entire Tablet P subforum!
