ICS update for Galaxy S II now rolling out in some markets
Well that was a quick change of things from the message a few days ago that the update wouldn't come on March 10. Samsung has now released a message saying they're starting the roll out, initially with four countries and then more in quick succession. Sweden, Poland, Hungary, and Korea will get the update first, with who knows what countries coming after that. The Samsung Norway director of sales told a Norwegian publication that the software was still in test phases only days ago, actually using the term "Nordic countries" instead of "Norway", so this message from Samsung that Sweden is one of the first countries to get the update is certainly peculiar.
For all those US customers waiting for an update though, remember that most European countries don't have carrier specific phones, so it can take a while until the update comes out on the special versions of the S II. I don't even think I will upgrade my S II to ICS, all the so-called new features are things that have existed through third party apps for ages, while at the same time ICS brings some "improvements" that I'd rather be without.
