RIM hiring iOS developers, BBM on other platforms imminent?

Rim_ios_job

There's been a rumor for a long time that RIM might be interested in porting its popular BBM service to other platforms, and one of the company's newest job listings seems to confirm it.

Today, RIM put up a job post for a Senior iOS Mobile Developer. This senior dev would be responsible for "[Creating] exciting enterprise applications for distribution on the iOS platform." If that doesn't scream BBM or one heck of an email client, then I don't know what would.

I honestly believe that RIM would be better off selling services and software rather than hardware; when you leave out RIM's hardware division, its services and software are still among the best in the industry. And it's not like this move would be detrimental to its profits. Microsoft is a perfect example of this, and that company is doing just fine with money.

The question now is, would you even use an iOS or Android variation of BBM?
