Vuclip finds consumers want Nokia phones, unless they already have an iPhone

Nokia

Even though I own an iPhone, I'll be the first to admit that Nokia's hardware is downright sexy. Heck, I'd argue that the Finnish manufacturer's phones are the most beautiful devices on the market.

Apparently, others feel the same way I do. Vuclip, a video streaming company, recently conducted a survey among 560,000 smartphone owners from 188 countries. Of the owners, 36.9% said that they're targeting a Nokia device for their next phone.

That's a pretty huge number. Nokia has slipped down Market Share Mountain the past few years in the USA, but these prospective buyers could help push the company back to the top in a lot of different markets. Unfortunately, the survey didn't specify which operating system the owners who were questioned wanted; hopefully, though, most of them are ready to move to Windows Phone.

Another intriguing bit of info from the survey is brand loyalty. Apple was second in the first category, but took first in brand loyalty. 90% of iPhone users said they would stay with their Apple devices; likewise, most BlackBerry users said they'd stay with their respective devices, as well. Sony didn't fare as well, with a measly 30% of owners saying that they'd stay with the brand.

These are just prospective numbers, but Nokia is still producing some amazing phones. In fact, if the company can market those phones just right, we may see Nokia trounce Samsung and HTC in sales this year.
