Amazon Wireless is no longer beta, celebrates with free apps and price matching

Amazon_wireless

I've mentioned Amazon Wireless in a few posts of mine, and that's because the retailer often has incredible deals for devices and has a wide selection from which to choose. It's back in the news today, but instead of just another good deal making the headlines, it's due to the retailer's growing up.

Amazon Wireless announced today that it's officially out of beta. To celebrate, it's giving away $25 of free apps for every Android device you buy. Those apps include: Doodle Jump, Shazam Encore, Paper Camera, Weatherbug Elite, Office Suite Pro, Frogger, and more – provided that the phone runs Android 1.6 or greater, or Android 2.2 or greater if it's on AT&T.

Also new is price matching. If you find a better deal on another "eligible" website within 14 days of your purchase, Amazon will refund you the difference. And, yes, "eligible" also applies to Amazon's own website: if your phone is sold for less within 14 days, Amazon will refund the difference.

With the offer of $25 free apps for an Android device, I just might have to look around the store to see which Verizon device I'd like. Are any of you going to pounce on this?
