Angry Birds Space might come to Nokia Lumia phones first
Angry Birds Space is one of my favorite mobile games from this year. It adds gravity-based gameplay to a game that heavily relies on physics for its challenges, which makes it infinitely more fun than its predecessors.
If you're using a Windows Phone device, you haven't yet had the chance to experience the newest bird-flinging game. Rovio, the developer behind the Angry Birds series, did say that Space would be headed to the Windows Phone platform eventually. That hasn't happened yet, but today, WMPoweruser is reporting that there's a possibility that the game will launch on Nokia's Lumia line of phones first.
The following quote is from Mikael Hed, the CEO of Rovio:
"We are working closely together with Nokia to bring our games to their platforms. Our mutual goal is to bring the best possible experience to our fans, including all fans using Windows Phone devices."
I don't think that this quote means Space will be a Lumia-exclusive – that would kill Windows Phone's hardware partnerships and likely sink the platform. But I do think that an exclusive early launch would be perfectly fine, provided that the app makes its way to HTC, LG, and Samsung hardware at a later date.
