Anythingbutiphone
Skype has finally arrived on Windows Phone, which should please AT&T CEO Ralph de la Vega. Meanwhile, Verizon accidentally announced the HTC DROID Incredible 4G LTE before quickly pulling the details down from its site, and Clearwire plans to launch its LTE network in 2013. Also, with SkyDrive, Dropbox, and Google Drive competing for your data, which one should you choose? Finally, join us at the Behind the Tiles events and win great prizes!
Anythingbutipad
Microsoft plans to make the Windows 8 Release Preview available for download during the first week of June. This build will represent a near-final version of the software giant’s next OS, which will be available in the fall. The company also released a major SkyDrive update, enabling support for desktop syncing, premium storage tiers, remote file access, and more. Not to be outdone, Google Drive also finally came out, giving us some excellent choices.
Good and EVO
As we wait for EVO 4G LTE preorders to begin on May 7, check out our exclusive first look at marketing materials for the device, and then vote in our latest poll on whether you prefer thinner phones or longer battery life. We’ve also determined who’s got the best cloud storage Android app, and reviewed two EVO accessories: the Powerbag Business Class Pack portable charger and the Seidio Multi-Function Battery Charger for the EVO 3D.
Nothing But Tablets
We got up close and personal with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7’s AMOLED screen, and also looked at how the resolution on the iPad 3 doesn’t hide the fact that it is still just an LCD screen, especially when compared to an AMOLED display. Bryan and Andreas both gave their personal opinions on the top three tablets for this month, while Asus announced the price and release date for the Transformer Pad TF300.
Pocketables
We’ve been covering the worldwide release of the new HTC One Series for a little while now, and we finally got our hands on the HTC One S, available on T-Mobile in the US for $199.99 on contract. Be sure to check out our video unboxing, but keep in mind that it’s not only good looking: it’s also got a great camera, as well! Finally, if you have a Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus and want to add some nice functionality, look at our DIY USB host port guide!
