Even though the HTC EVO View 4G probably won't ever officially get Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich, Google doesn't want View owners to feel completely left behind. With the latest Gmail update, available now in the Play Store, Google is bringing the Ice Cream Sandwich Gmail experience to the EVO View.

New features include:

  • Swipe to move between newer and older conversations
  • Tap your account to access Recent labels
  • Set custom notifications for individual labels
  • Sync last 30 days of messages so you can read and search messages faster both online and offline.

Gmail-qrAdditionally, those of you with the EVO 4G, EVO 3D, or EVO Design 4G who are still running Gingerbread also get some performance improvements. Third-party app developers also get a new labels API.

This is definitely a worthwhile update if you regularly use your EVO View to keep up with your Gmail. So if you haven't already updated, just follow the link below.
