Is the Dell Streak 5 set to receive a kernel upgrade?

Streak_5_kernel

Have you taken advantage of PandaWill's Dell Streak 5 sale? If you have, you'll be glad to know that the device you just spent $274.99 on might soon be getting a kernel upgrade. Today, the 'Streak' folder on Dell's open source website was updated. The 4.05_and_4.07 folder is new, and one of our awesome tipsters, Giveen, believes it's for a kernel upgrade.

Even though Dell isn't officially selling the Streak 5 anymore, it's still nice to know that it's still a supported device. I doubt it will get Ice Cream Sandwich, but just a little support is comforting for a device that you spent money on, no matter the amount.

We'll be sure to let you know when this rolls out to devices.
