RIM’s BlackBerry 10 developer handset leaked, pictured
About a month ago, RIM announced that it will be handing out BlackBerry 10 developer phones at its BlackBerry Jam event. Then, this Wednesday, we found out that the company should be introducing its first retail device in August, with a launch two months later in October. And now, we're seeing what the manufacturer is planning on making its next-generation BlackBerrys look like.
It should be noted that this device will never go on sale, but it's a good indication of what's going to be coming out of the Waterloo-based manufacturer. The rumor I wrote about on Wednesday said there will be a completely touch-based BlackBerry first, and a hardware keyboard-equipped one second (and later). This device doesn't have a keyboard, so it's safe to assume that the phone in this picture will look quite similar to the BlackBerry that will be introduced in August.
This device and its fellow developer phones should be handed out to eager BlackBerry 10 developers next week at BlackBerry Jam. I truly hope there are a lot of devs there to pick one up, too; I'm dying to see if BB 10 can replace my iPhone, and that'll only happen if there are enough apps to keep me satisfied.
