Newts One S *Beta* (Sense 4.0 ICS 4.0.3) available for the HTC EVO 3D

For those anxiously awaiting the long-ago promised Ice Cream Sandwich / Sense 3.6 upgrade on your HTC EVO 3D, developer Newtoroot has done you one better: ICS 4.0.3 and Sense 4.0 ported from the HTC ONE S to the 3D. As with most ICS offerings in the EVO line, some things do not work or work reliably yet. There are issues reported with Bluetooth, WiFi, and the camera. Most of these appear to be kernel related however, and kernels are being worked on as I type to address some of the issues. It’s probably not a daily driver candidate yet, and there are absolutely no reports of the 3D camera or display working so far, but some are reporting that besides the fun experience of playing with an ICS ROM on their EVO 3D, they’re getting several additional gigabytes of Dropbox storage due to a deal HTC and Dropbox have for Sense 4.0 devices. As with any ROM, before flashing make a complete Nandroid backup. As this appears to be being developed like mad on both the kernel and ROM side, you should additionally check for the existence of a new Sense 3.6/4.0 capable kernel and any new bugs reported in the development thread before flashing to minimize any issues.
