Scanner Pro updated, now universal app

scannerpro ipad - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

Scanner Pro is one of my most used, most productive apps ever. For the last year of my education, I scanned hundreds and hundreds of paper pages through the app, which was actually just an iPhone app – until now. Scanner Pro 4 is out, and for the first time ever, it’s a universal app for both iPhone and iPad.

This update doesn’t just mean the interface is now adapted to the iPad, it also brings a lot of improvements to how things work. More reference points for selecting borders is one of those thing, and something I have wished for for a long time. Processing method, contrast, rotation etc is now also available in a screen of its own, and dynamic, meaning you can switch between different processing modes without going back and doing the last step over again.

Naturally the iPad 3 is a major reason for this going universal now, as its the first iPad with a camera capable of scanning documents. Using a standalone camera and the Camera Connection Kit however works just fine on older iPads, and has the ability to give you ever better scans.
