ClockworkMod and TeamWin custom recoveries for HTC EVO 4G LTE released

cwm lte - for some reason we don't have an alt tag hereJust days after the HTC EVO 4G LTE was released to the general public, the famed ClockworkMod recovery 5.8.2.4 was ported over by toastcfh, an awesome developer who didn’t even have the phone to work with. A few hours later, the ever-talented TeamWin released TWRP 2.1 for the device.

ClockworkMod allows you to flash custom ROMs and kernels on the 4G LTE without the need to use Fastboot mode or Smartflash (as some HTC EVO 3Ds required), but the touch-specific features of the recovery are reportedly not functioning. TWRP’s touch-specific features are working, along with zip queuing, a basic file manager, and everything TWRP has been known for in the past. Currently USB mode does not function in recovery, and I don’t see any information about whether it can write the boot.img (kernel) but assume it can be done as well.

It’s still pretty early on in the development of these recoveries, so do proceed with caution and make sure to read how to install them carefully. It would be horrible to have just gotten a phone as awesome as the EVO 4G LTE and softbrick it at week one.
