Message notification bug affects small number of HTC One X users, fix is on the way

One-x

A small number HTC One X users are experiencing a bug in which they are not being notified of new text messages. This includes AT&T users, as well as international users with unbranded devices. Effected users report that not only is the standard message notification missing for incoming texts, but the badge on the home screen icon is also not being updated with new message counts.

Luckily, HTC is aware of the problem and will push out an update as soon as possible, although no time frame has been announced yet. As is to be expected, AT&T users will probably receive the fix last, as OTA updates have to be tested and approved by the carrier before they’re made available to the general public for download.

If you’re experiencing this, at least you know you’re not the only one with this problem! In the meantime, you may want to try out a messaging replacement, such as Handcent or GoSMS.
