Official HTC One S kickstand case will be available soon

If you remember back to mid-2010, HTC actually pioneered the smartphone kickstand with the original HTC EVO 4G. Since then, this concept has been a big hit with consumers, which is why a lot of people were not happy to hear that the EVO 3D would be released last year without a kickstand, and that plans to make an official kickstand case for the device were later scrapped. Luckily, HTC is listening to consumers, and it doesn’t want to repeat the same mistakes over again: that’s why the new EVO 4G LTE will have a kickstand again, and why HTC is releasing an official case for the HTC One S that will also include a kickstand.

The official cases will come in four colors (gray, granita, navy blue, and black), although only the black will have the integrated kickstand. According to initial reviews, the build quality also seems to be much better than most third-party cases: these official HTC cases will use a precision-molded flexible plastic shell that has a soft touch finish, and the kickstand is made of a metal alloy and is spring-loaded.

Unfortunately, the kickstand seems to block access to the micro-USB port while being used, and the front side remains exposed. Still, these look pretty snazzy. There’s no word on when these will be released, other than “soon,” but we do have pricing: $24.99 for the regular cases, and $39.99 for the kickstand.
