Samsung files patent for dual-screen tablet

Samsung Dual - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

The dual-screen tablet is nothing new. A few different companies have tried it, some with a little success and most with no success at all. Some, like Microsoft’s Courier Project, never make it past the research stage into actual development. In 2010 Acer and start-up Kno gave it a shot, with nothing good coming out of it. The one company that probably had the most success with the idea is Sony with its Tablet P.

A patent discovered yesterday seems to indicate that Samsung is going to attempt a foray into the dual-screen market. There isn’t a whole lot of information about the patent, but the picture seems to indicate that they would try and join two 7-inch tablets together. There also seems to be some sort of laser pointer, maybe for presentations, that is included in the patent. There are rumors of Samsung announcing a new device at a press event in London later this week; it might be this tablet. Maybe they could call it the Samsung Galaxy Tab Duo.
