Stock rooted 1.12.651.2-based ROM for the HTC EVO 4G LTE released before the phone

Days before the HTC EVO 4G LTE's original (and now delayed) official release, a stock rooted, leaked 1.12.651.2-based ROM has been published for it. If there was any wonder how fast root and custom development would get in motion, well, that's been answered.

While the developer is working blind, meaning he has the code but not a phone to work on, it doesn't look like much remains other than a final test to determine whether it actually boots or not.

I wouldn't suggest being the guinea pig for this. Something about flashing untested ROMs on a new device with an untested recovery that hasn't even been written yet makes me think a phone that's rendered useless for a few days may be in your future.

But, for those on the fence waiting to see how goes root, it looks like it's there. HTCDev unlocking is there. The stock rooted ROM is there. The HTC EVO 4G LTE recovery is not there yet, although the makers of two popular recoveries have both stated it will be after they have device in hand.

It's an exciting time to be in this year's EVO LTE crowd.
