Track 8 is a Metro UI music player for the iPad
There are surprisingly few music players for the iPad that aren’t also part of some streaming service or whatnot, but a new addition to the App Store is trying to change that. Track 8 is a very polished (despite initially crashing constantly on a couple of iOS versions) music player that uses the Windows Metro UI look to give you an alternative to the built in music player. Everything looks a bit oversized, but nice, with huge album art, automatically pulled artist images as backgrounds, and so on. I don’t know what Microsoft has to saw about this use of their UI, but it’s hardly the first app to use the UI style, with Android being full of them. The app is a $2 download in the App Store, and I suggest grabbing it quickly just in case Microsoft sends its lawyers after these people.
