Features
With Windows Week now behind us (see below for the full wrap-up), it’s time to turn our focus toward Google I/O. Aaron has a list of what he’d like to see at the conference, but he doesn’t believe that Google can “fix” Android the way people want without ruining the point of the OS. Calob also has a rundown of why he went back to stock ICS and why he doesn’t want Apple to replace the 30-pin connector.
Reviews
Are you, like Calob, constantly cycling through Android email apps in search of the perfect one? If so, take a look at his review of MailDroid, which has replaced K-9 on his smartphone. Andreas also has a quick review of Remote Notifier, which allows you to forward Android notifications from your smartphone or tablet to your Windows, Mac, or Linux computer. This app has the potential to be very useful.
Good and EVO
It’s been a busy three months for ROM development, so it’s time to take another look at the State of Root for EVO devices. If you don’t want to root you device, but want additional options, check out our tutorial on how to access hidden power saver features on your HTC EVO 4G LTE. Also, Google has confirmed problems with Wallet on the HTC EVO 4G LTE and we’re giving away five Seidio Convert Combo cases.
Windows Week Wrap-Up
Microsoft announced that it is getting into the hardware business with the impressive
Surface tablet, and a number of Pocketables editors are eyeing it for their next device. Pocketables was also on hand to cover the Windows Phone 8 announcement live. William managed to get a video of Greg Sullivan showing off the Windows Phone 7.8 update, and he has a review of Microsoft’s Windows Phone Summit announcements.
