MIUI makes its way to the HTC EVO 4G LTE in unofficial port
MIUI v4, the Chinese iOS-inspired ROM based on Ice Cream Sandwich/Android 4.0.4, has made its way to the HTC EVO 4G LTE in an unofficial port by Team D.I.R.T. (Developers In Real Time). This is perhaps the fourth Team D.I.R.T. ROM released in the past three days; they’ve been a busy bunch it seems.
The port is fairly early in development, with MMS, NFC, and a couple of other things reported not working, which is not a huge deal if you don’t use NFC or send pictures via text.
While data is listed as not working in the initial post, a fix has been posted on page 4 in the developer thread, which involves giving access to the LBE security guard. So don’t let a reported lack of a data connection dissuade you from testing this out.
Keep in mind that this is fairly early on in the release, so make sure to clear those Google Wallet settings and make a Nandroid backup before dipping your toes in MIUI on the EVO 4G LTE. I’m still stuck with a stock ROM on my EVO 4G LTE for the next few days and can’t play with this, so let me know how it works for you if you try it.
