Windows Phone 8 apps can be ported to Windows 8 for multiplayer and more
Windows Phone 8’s shared core with Windows 8 makes it easy to convert a game or app from one platform to another in just two days. Games will also support multiplayer between the two operating systems. Microsoft is making this easy thanks to Windows 8’s new NFC support.
During the keynote, Microsoft showed off how a game developed on one platform could be ported to the other in less than two days. Then, using NFC, you’ll be able to tap the two devices together to initiate a peer-to-peer game over WiFi. It’s fast, simple, and drop dead simple.
And with Windows Phone 8’s new support for DirectX and physics engines like Havok, the potential for games has increased exponentially.
